11 Tobacco Silks, Cigarette Silks, Native American Rug Design, Various Flags
Although called "cigarette silks" or "tobacco silks," the material is more likely to be satin. They were inserted in packs of cigarettes or could be obtained by sending in coupons stuffed in the packs. A type of tobacciana, they were often used to fashion quilts and other textiles at the turn of the 20th century. All Tobacco Silks are approximately 8" x 5", with the exception of Bulgaria; which measures 11" x 7.25".
