Vintage R.C. Gorman Style Native American Marble Sculpture
Condition consistent with age and history. Please use zoom feature to check item condition and contact us with any questions prior to purchasing. Thank you.
This piece was acquired at a high-end estate auction featuring various Gorman works. We have listed this piece as a "Gorman Style" sculpture because; although we confidently believe this to be an authentic Gorman artwork, we do not have provenance on this piece and therefore cannot positively authenticate it as such. The price reflects these facts.
Celebrated Native American artist R.C. Gorman, know as "the Picasso of Native American Art", was heavily influenced by his father Carl Gorman. Carl Gorman was also a prominent artist and well-known as being one of the original 29 Navajo Code Talkers serving our country during WWII. Either R.C. or his father could have done this piece. Most of the sculpted Gorman pieces on the market are in bronze; making this a potentially more rare find.
Approximate Dimensions: 14" wide x 11" high x 7" deep
Approximate Weight: 40 lbs.
PHOTOGRAPHY NOTE: This white marble sculpture is actually more white than appears in the pics. The exposure level in the pics has been
reduced to more clearly reveal the shape and texture of the piece.
SPECIAL NOTE: Please see our other listings for other R.C. Gorman items.
